Incorporating Holiday Hints of the Season for Your Wedding
When you are planning a Thanksgiving or Christmas time wedding you may want to think about incorporating holiday
hints of the season for your wedding. There are many ways you could enhance your big day by highlighting other
great days around you. You could incorporate holiday hints of the season in the colors that you use, favors that
you give, flowers that you have and food that you will serve. There is a myriad of inspiration right at your
fingertips from bridal magazines, home and garden magazines and childhood memories.
When you are working on incorporating holiday hints of the season for your wedding the easiest way that you can do
this is with color. If you are having a Thanksgiving wedding then you should think about using rich reds, oranges,
greens or purples. If you are having a Christmas wedding then you could go with the traditional hints of red and
green. You do not have to use solely two colors that represent the season. You can choose two colors that you like
the most and incorporate the holiday colors in the things as simple as the napkins, tablecloths, signature
cocktails or bridesmaid attire.
If you wanted to use the guest favors that you choose to incorporate holiday hints of the season into your wedding
then you have many fun ways that you can do so. The first and easiest way to incorporate holiday hints into guest
favors is to wrap whatever you get as a gift in holiday themed paper. If you wanted to go a bit further then you
could get guests something that they could use for the holidays. Maybe you wanted to get everyone a pair of mittens
or a new stocking. If you are Jewish then a fun guest favor may be a silver deride or a recipe accompanied by the
ingredients for macaroons. The holidays are a time of giving so what better then to spoil your guests with a soft
blanket or packet of deluxe hot cocoa.
If you wanted to incorporate hints of the holiday for your wedding into your flowers you will find it very simple.
During the holidays there are some very creative and amazing floral choices during the holiday season. Amaryllis
are beautiful flowers that come in red, white or pink and grow to be a little under three feet tall that would look
amazing on the Alter or on the tables at the reception. For your wedding bouquet you may want to incorporate long
strands of pine garland. If you wanted to go a more traditional route and have roses as your bridal bouquet then
maybe you would like to have the groomsmen wear boutonnieres of holly berry.
The most enjoyable way to incorporate hints of the holidays into you wedding reception may be with the food. During
the holidays you cold serve turkey or ham with mashed potatoes, corn, cranberry sauce, stuffing and green bean
casserole. There are many lovely deserts that you can serve as well such as pumpkin pie, apple pie or cream puffs.
You can have candy canes or hot cocoa ready for the folks when they come into the reception. Sugar cookies in
holiday colors with your new monogram on them make a very cute treat for your wedding guests to enjoy.
The holidays are a lovely time for a wedding and a lovely time for celebration with family. Memories come at the
time when the air is cold and noses are red. What better then a time when love is mixed with frost in the air to
have a big day?
